Visiting the Mill
Please Note - NO WATER POWER
Due to essential maintenance work, the leat is currently drained down and so there will be no demonstrations of water power until further notice.
The sawmill will still be offering guided tours on Open Days but demonstrations of sawing will only be possible under diesel power and we will not be able to show the water turbine working.
Visits and Events
The sawmill is open on at least the third Monday of each month for free "drop-in" tours. There are also other events at the mill during the year but you may need to book in advance for some of these. The volunteers are happy to open the mill on other occasions by appointment: we do our best to accomodate visits by schools and societies: the longer notice you can give of planned dates the more likely we can help you.

Facilities
There is usually some parking available (at your own risk) at the mill on open days and we can make special arrangements for visitors with limited mobility if you contact us in advance. Please note that there are no public toilets at the mill. You may find it preferable to park at Ashcombe Car Park, where there are toilets, and to walk the 500m to the mill.

In the Vicinity
Simonsbath is well located for exploring the heart of Exmoor, so even if you are unfortunate enough to be visiting on a day when the sawmill is closed, there is plenty to see and do.
